A
preventive maintenance inspection checks:

The
installed hardware in a computer system to make sure it is functioning
correctly. This includes the CPU, hard drives, memory, video, sound, modems,
fans, and cables. It also includes cleaning the inside of the computer case.
·
The
operating system to determine which version is installed, that it is installed
correctly, and with all appropriate upgrades and patches.
·
Applications
software to determine which version(s) are installed, that they are installed
correctly, and with all appropriate upgrades and patches.
·
System
operation for performance and efficiency. Such things as available disk space,
disk defragmentation, disk reliability, available memory, memory utilization,
and other aspects of system performance.
·
Absence
of viruses.
·
A written
report documenting the configuration of the system and recommended enhancements
and procedures to optimize the use of your computer system.
* Preventive maintenance inspection is limited to two Microsoft Windows desktop computers (Windows 2000/XP) or one Microsoft Windows server (Windows 2000/2003). Time to complete this work is approximately 60-90 minutes and has an equivalent service value of $150.
